Another Birthday and lots to talk about!

Wow! What a long time has gone by since my last story! That means I have lots to talk about. Where do I begin... Oh, I just had a birthday! Way back in May!

Again with the hat! I like my ears out so I can hear everything. I now have two of those things burning on my treats. Now let me at those treats!

Whoa! Something is going to make me sneeze. Must be the burning things.

What's all the fuss? Doesn't everyone have birthdays? Birthdays only confuse me. Pat put a big 2 on my birthday plate but I don't feel like I'm two. Sometimes Dave and Pat say I'm a "teenager." Whatever that means. I've even heard them say I'm 14 years old. Now that's confusing.
How old am I supposed to feel. I'm pretty quick on my feet and I can tree lots of squirrels. Everyone says I'm in good shape, so what gives with the difference between being 2 and 14 years old???
Anyway, I did have a great birthday. Pat gave me a really sweet cookie to celebrate but I only had a piece of it. It was really different tasting. I think I'll stick with my "nuggets", "chewy" and regular treats. Although, there are times when I get close to what Dave and Pat are eating and I really like the smells of what they eat. There must be a difference between doggie food and people food. I don't mind not eating people food as long as I can sit on their laps.

Since my last writing we've kinda gotten into the summer routine. Pat or Dave sometimes go to work and or the other stays with me and that's great! I have one or the other all to myself. I think all our friends, Winston, Darlene, Buzz, Angela and Bill went someplace for these hot days. Dave takes me on morning and evening long walks and Pat takes me on shorter walks but they're just as much fun. I like the leash that Dave has. I can walk way ahead of him and tell all the dogs walking to get out of my way! I'm sure all my friends will be back, I can't wait!

OK, enough of the kid's stuff. I've got some serious exploring to do.
Aha, sniff, sniff I think I know who's been here, and it isn't a squirrel.

Hold it, I think a squirrel passed by here.
 What was that!
 I know there's a squirrel close by....

Hmmmm, I don't see one but I'm sure there's one close by.

Dave's been taking me on "buggy" rides and I love them! I think the "buggy" belongs to Wisnton's Mom and Dad. They call it a golf cart. We get to go to a place Dave calls "target rich." I don't know what that means but there are squirrels on almost every tree!
Then we ride up to this beautiful grassy and hilly area. I get to run all around and look way out over things.

This picture is really neat. We were down next to the palm trees on the right. I think this is on a golf course. We ride up this tiny path road and it's really hilly.

Then we heard this funny noise over our heads and when we looked up this is what we saw! It made a funny loud noise.

There's really is no place like home. Here's my secret lookout in our house so I can keep watch for the squirrels. I can run from this lookout to the other room and jump on the couch to get a good view of the squirrels in the tree next to the house. I can get lots of exercise running back and forth.

Best of all is our mornings together. Pat and Dave have these chairs that I can easily jump up on and get really comfortable with Pat or Dave. Sometimes I can relax so much I just doze off....

...and sometimes not! Especially when Dave is trying to put something over on me!

Well, gotta go for now. I'll be back soon. I think I'm going on a trip! Pat set my carrier-crate out on the floor for me to go in and out of. I don't know what is in store for me but I went in and out of it... hey, I like it!

Finally, I get to stretch my paws!

Man, I've just got to learn to speak human talk! I'd tell Dave and Pat to let me on the computer in no uncertain terms! At least I got to the computer tonight. Dave finally got off it and I know Pat will be wanting to go on the computer later so I'll make this quick.

I've been enjoying lots of walks but I don't like how cold its been here. Dave and Pat are always putting these wraps on me when I go out. They call them, jackets! Right, I have several that have this stuff that makes them stick together but they really scare me when they take them off me. It sounds like someone is tearing me apart! I'm getting kind of used to them though. I begin to shake when I get cold. At least Dave and Pat notice that and they gave me this thing called a sweater.
I like it! And, it is nice and warm. I can wear it all day in the house.
It has diamonds on the back. I look really great in this but it really is weird trying to put it on. One day I got it off all by myself and Pat and Dave had no idea how I did it. I also like to scratch up against the wall with it on but Dave and Pat think I might scratch the wood with the diamonds.

Just the other day I had a ball watching about six squirrels running up and down the tree and on the grass in our back yard. Darlene was visiting with us and she said the squirrels are "twitter patting!" Whatever that means. With all their running around I had to run from all the windows to catch what they were doing. I had never seen so many squirrels. I wanted to get out and chase everyone of them.
This guy was teasing the daylights out of me.

I couldn't stand it. I needed to let off steam so I grabbed "Ginger!"

I really roughed Ginger up! Oh, and that blue "doggie" blanket is one of my new blankets. Wow, is it soft!

See, I told you I got really cold. Dave likes to work on wood in the garage but I thought it was too cold. He helped by giving me my own heater. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

But there is nothing like snuggling with Pat!

They took me for a hair cut and I didn't need my sweater this day. I got out and chased all the squirrels away
 Do you see any squirrels?
Nice hair cut though, don't you think?

 Yep, no squirrels!
Oops, I missed this guy but he's up the tree now so I can relax for now.

Ahhh, here's one of my "easy-on" jackets

Gee, for a little dog, I sure can make a big shadow!

Oh, Dave and Pat are also letting me stay out of my kennel when they go out now! I am the Queen of the house! I watch them from the front window when they leave. I can see them because the windows are just made for me to see out of them. I watch them until they go away and then I listen for awhile just in case they sneak back. But, after a few minutes I walk around to make sure there are no squirrels in the yard. Then, I head for the couch and my really soft blanket. I now have two soft blankets to cuddle into.

OK now I'm happy. I got to write a little bit and relive all my squirrel chases.

Now I think I would like to cuddle for awhile in one of my really soft blankets.

This is great, but I like snuggling with Pat wrapped up in her comfy robe best!

"Looking Back!"

I have not been taking many pictures lately so I thought I'd like to think back to my puppy days.
I remember leaving Becky and my Mom to stay with a couple of people but for some reason they brought me back to Becky and my Mom. I didn't feel very good then, I think I was sick. When I got better I began to play lots with my Mom.

That's my Mom. Her name is Haley. I could play really rough with her.
Then I met Pat and Dave at Becky's home. I really liked them. I played with my Mom and them for a few days and I got to meet few of their friends.
I really like to lick!

I just loved to play in the grass at Becky's home.

Sometimes my Mom would get tired of playing with me. She's much older than me. I think she was two when I was born.

One day I got to see Pat and Dave again. This time they brought two friends. I think their names are Darlene and Buzz. Darlene was really good holding me. I think that's because she has Winston.
Dave and Pat came back again only this time they took me with them. My Mom didn't seem to mind me leaving, but Becky seemed different about me when Dave and Pat took me in their car to leave.

Things were so different in Dave and Pat's tiny house... and now I was all alone!
Dave and Pat were very nice to me but things were so different.

I remember that long ride in that tiny home Pat and Dave had.
I learned to move from one position....
...to another.
Pat was really good keeping me comfortable. I think I stayed on her lap the entire ride.
They let me bring out the "devil" in me every now and then because I was really quiet and didn't fuss at all.

But when they took me into this large house at the end of the ride, I was ready to work out some stiffness.
I ripped apart more than my share of toys. I fit easily under their bed so it would be a day or so before they knew I could take a toy apart better than any dog. And, I was quiet about it!

I know Pat likes dressing me up. I'm not really happy about that. I think this is a pig suit.
Gosh, what next!

Well everyone, I'm glad you are here to share my memories. They really were fun.
I would like to do this again.
Hey, maybe I will get to see my Mom and Becky again. I think Dave and Pat are talking about visiting Becky soon. Gee, I wish I knew what my Mom is doing, she's much older than me you know!
Bye!

Hey Everyone, I'm Still Here!

Hi to all my loyal friends. I'm happy that you like to read what I have to say. Dave has mentioned to Pat that a few of my faithful readers have missed my stories. I'll try to catch everyone up. Since we've moved I'm in "squirrel heaven!" I have windows that I can actually see out of in this new house to keep track of those pesky critters. Just the other day one of them charged me at the window. Pat and Darlene had a good laugh at my expense. I was nose to nose with this big squirrel at the window. He actually sat on the outside sill while I was going nuts trying to push through the window. That really made my day, but that only made me want to get them on the trees even more.

There is one thing I'm really getting good at...snuggling! Here I am wrapped up in Pat's robe. Its funny, all I have to do is jump up on either Dave or Pat's lap and they bundle me up in a robe or one of my blankets.
I really like warm, tight places to snuggle.

I'm awake! I was just letting my eyes relax.

Oh well, I might just as well enjoy this!

See, I know how to get comfortable!

The only thing is, I wish Pat and Dave wouldn't dress me so warm when I go out. I think I'm getting a complex! Check this out.....
With a hood to boot! How do they think I'm going to hear anything???

I get really warm when I go with Dave to the garage. He makes all these strange noises and makes lots of dust while I sit in the sun on these soft things. What a life!

But this is the best! Napping on the bed with Darlene snuggled in a soft fleece blanket.
It doesn't get any better. Shhh, please don't tell her dog, Winston. He's older than me and I don't want to upset him. (I can get away with more than he can!)

I'm making progress with my "stealth crawl." I can sneak up on the squirrels easily. Now if I could just train Dave or Pat to do this crawl I could actually catch one! They always manage to mess me up. Dave will let out my leash just enough that they can get away. He also can't run as fast as me so I end up pulling him.

This is what they call my "kennel." It's a prison sentence to me! At one time, I knew when they were going to make me walk into this jail when they took off my harness just as they were going out. Now they take off my harness after a walk so I don't know when they'll lock me up to go out!
Actually, some times I don't mind if they put me in here. Dave likes to take me on much longer walks than Pat and I do enjoy peace and quiet (along with a little nap) after he walks me.

Here I am, my eyes locked onto this critter! All I can do is watch while he runs around in my yard picking things up off the ground. I really like watching two of these guys chasing each other when they are in the trees. I get so excited I start to shake.

In other news, Pat took me for a ride with Linda. I got to jump all over her car and sniff around. I don't know where we went but at least I didn't have to stay in my prison, er kennel. Linda makes me get really excited. One day she got me so excited I threw up!

That's about all I have to talk about for now. I think I'll snuggle with Pat she just came in the door.
