Eghads, I'm getting older!

Hi fellow puppy lovers! I've been taking lots of great walks now that the weather is getting better. I've gained weight. I think I heard I now weigh five pounds. My legs are getting stronger and I can really jump on and off the furniture. (But, each time I make a jump, I can see Pat and Dave cringe!) I kinda gave up on chewing on the furniture and I don't mind taking care of my business outside. Although, I still get a chuckle when I wake Dave up at three or four in the morning. He's funny, he watches to see if I head back to my bed or not. I tease him and go back to bed. The best part of this is that he doesn't get angry, he just comes over, pats me on the head and covers me up. Gee, I must admit that's really great for getting back to sleep.... for me!

We've been checking out the alligator in the pond behind the house. I think Dave showed you my picture near the gator. I just wish Dave would let me go, I'd show that critter a thing or two. I guess it's a good thing that Dave doesn't let me near that gator because I really don't want to make any enemies in the neighborhood.

The other day I was "surfing" through Dave's photo files and I just happened to find a couple of photos of me and YIKES, what's happening to me. The photo below was taken in Becky's yard in PA back in September. I was playing with my Mom and nearly caught a rabbit. I was four months old.

I needed to sit down when I saw the photo below. It was taken in February of this year. I am ten months old and for a second I wondered, who is looking back at me.

Hmmmm, that's strange, it looks like my ears stayed the same size!

Actually, I guess I can see why everyone I meet wants to pick me up!

Finally, I get to use the computer!

Boy, I've had a lousy few days a while back. I'm sure Dave told you something about the problem I had about my teeth. Well, what do you expect when people don't understand dog speak .

It all started with my baby teeth pushing on my adult teeth. I started drooling a lot a couple of days before they helped me. Although, the visit to the Vet was a bit more than I expected. First off, this guy put his fingers in my mouth and a helper put this thermometer thing in my rear. What next! Then they kept me there and gave me something and I went to sleep. When I woke up I felt really yucky and for the rest of the day I didn't feel like doing anything. The next day was much better and I even stopped all the drooling. Actually, I felt pretty good. We played, walked and I ate a lot. I guess we Yorkies have lots of problems with our teeth. I hope I don't have to visit that tooth guy again. You people are really lucky that you don't have to see a tooth guy!

I'm getting out more but this cold weather is strange. Pat and Dave have a really hard time getting my jacket on. Gee, they must think I'm a wimp or something. It eventually did warm up and they didn't have to stress about my jacket.

Oh boy, there are sooooo many new smells where I live. On top of that, there are so many wild things I can chase; birds around the pond, tiny lizards, toads and I even got to sniff a tiny turtle. One night I saw something Dave called an armadillo. I also saw a possum. We have possums where I used to live in PA.

I can find the smallest things to sniff!

See, I told you my teeth were better. Dave let me play with this bottle. I wasn't strong enough to bite through it but is was fun. I don't get it, they give me all these great things to chew on and when they go out and leave me alone, they take them away.

One night, Dave found this really big ball.
I cannot get my jaw open enough to bite it but my teeth are tiny enough that I can rip the fur off and bite the fur. That was really cool! I like walking with it. I think Pat and Dave do as well because they laugh when I walk and carry that ball!

Cool huh!

Dave's been letting me walk on the grass just above the sand at the edge of the ponds here. I really want to get into the water. That's all new to me.
I think there is a reason why they don't let me off my leash or go too close to the water down here.
The other day we walked around the edge of the pond and Dave showed me this thing...

Then, he took me home, left me in the lanai so he could go back and get this picture of it....
WOW! That is really big. And it wasn't afraid of Dave because it didn't move when he got real close to it.
For some reason those things like the water...

Dave must have thought I was really cute because, while walking back to the house, he took a picture of me in the window... can you find me?

Dave and Pat laughed when they saw me sitting on the window sill. They thought I was too big to get the best seat in the house to look out the window!

OK I've had my fun, time for a nap!
