I are a Graduate!

Alright my friends, let's have a little respect for the graduate... ME!
Ya, Coco and I passed with flying colors, even though I don't return anything to Pat and Dave or that I don't come when called. I'm going to keep some semblance of just who is in charge for a while longer.

I frustrated my trainer, Mary by giving her a difficult time putting that silly looking hat on my head! She poked me in the eye so I just made it all the more difficult for her to accomplish the task.

Now, how can I get any respect when she puts my hat over my eyes!

Phew, that was tough. You can tell by the look on my face, I didn't like being in the dark! I should have bit her when I had the chance.

Then, Mary tried to get me to do some more commands... reluctantly, I gave in... man I just can't refuse those treats!

I did have fun giving my buddy, Coco a hard time! Man, he's just too easy.

 Stand down you fluff ball!

Come on Mary, count, I've got him pinned!
Boy, that sure was fun... now, I'm ready to take on those two snobby greyhounds that live two houses down from us! Heck, they're not even brave enough to bark back at me when I bark at them!

OK, so now I go home as a "Graduate," whatever that means. I did get another toy and Pat bought some of these funny shaped treats and stuck them into this "Kong" thingy. Man, I really had to work to get this tasty treat out but I'm getting the hang of it!

Pat and Dave had some really nice people stay with us. Their names are Bob and Angela. I played them like a fiddle! I got all sorts of pats and funny laughs out of them and all I had to do was use my eyes and make some funny faces. They even laughed when I walked quickly or ran! We played a lot and I had all of them wrapped around my little paw! People are so easy to please and tease.
But, if I'm that cute, I still don't understand why Dave grumbles so much when I wake him up at 3:00 in the morning!

We all went to this place called Celebration.
Pat, Dave, Bob and Angela sat at this small table and ate while I was stuck on the ground sniffing leaves and stuff! I had some fun with this family that walked up to me and asked if their little girl can pat me. She had this really big hat on and she moved too quickly toward me so I growled and that was that... they moved on! Oh what fun!

Sure, Pat, Dave, Bob and Angela had all the fun and I knew what they were eating was really good. You'd think they could share some with me, but no... they said it wasn't any good for me. Right, so something that smells really sweet is good for them?????

I let them walk me around this big pond so I can sniff all kinds of new things.

I saw so many things I didn't have enough time to see them all!

I had a great time even though I was really tired after all that walking, and I'm ready to do it all again!

....but, maybe I'll wait a day or two!

Training is going well... they're learning!

I thought I'd have a little fun this post.
Here's my self-portrait of me at the laptop. Man, I can get away with just about anything. Although, they're getting pretty good at catching me leaving them a present on the rug! Dave has a "hissy fit" but Pat always seems to understand and lets me get away with it.
.....after all, I am just a puppy!

We were riding someplace in the car and Dave thought he saw "Dumbo" in the clouds." Whoever that is!
Dave took me to meet this guy named Jack. He's really nice too. I got to ride in his lap. I think he knows things about dogs. We sat outside and I got to sniff around. Boy, there sure are a lot of doggy smells in that place. I had to sniff just about every inch of the edge of the road we walked!

They took me to this doggy store and I can't believe what they bought me....
I'm five months old and I'm a "jail-bird!"
Now, is this the face of a criminal?
I guess there are some places they want to keep me from running around. It's not all that bad, at least I'm in the same room with Dave and Pat.

You're going to love this story. I don't know what Dave and Pat think I'm doing but I love sitting on my "doggy" and riding him. They start laughing when I do this but its great fun and I get a lot of exercise.

I tell you Dave really knows how to get me going when we play. He makes "Bobo" pop up all over the place. I just can't help myself, I love scrapping to find "Bobo." Hey I was bred to hunt rats in tunnels, these stuffed play buddies have met their match!

But sometimes my age gets the better of me. Actually, Dave's a lot older than me so I give him a break by looking like I'm napping.

But, every now and then, I take a peek to see when he's napping!

Ahhhhhhh, I get into all these poses to let them see how cute I can be!

But something else very special happened a day or two ago. Dave's phone rang one evening and I could hear the voice talking. It was so familiar to me. I'm sure it was Becky! Her voice brought back sooooo many fun memories. They talked for a long time. She wanted to hear about all the things I was learning and experiencing.

Gee, I had so much fun with my Mom, Haley and Becky.

I miss my Mom and Becky.

I know I'll see them again some time.

Between sitting on Pat's lap and Dave Playing with me, I just need to get some "me time!"

...and here...

Oh now this is really cool. Pat and Dave took me someplace where Pat left and Dave took me for this really terrific walk. We parked behind this big building with a cross on it and I got to walk all around
and check out all the new sniffing ground. I chased about two dozen of those lizard things. Darn, if I wasn't tied to Dave I'd catch my share of those things. I'm really quick! They get away from me on the hard surfaces but when they hit the grass, I'm on 'em!
Then we walked down this path and there was this big animal walking right across our path.
Dave took a couple of pictures of this thing. Dave's camera gave off a big light and it made the animals eyes look really scary! I think he told Pat we saw a deer.

I tell ya, Dave is easy. No matter what position I get into he points this clicky thing at me. So, I might as well give him a cute look. If he only knew what I was thinking!

He must have thought I was a good doggy, he was going to let me try moving the car!

All in all, today was a really good day! I watched Dave and Pat (from my barred prison cell) clean all these windows in this strange part of the house. Dave took me outside on this thing I was tied to that I could go far away and still be connected to Dave. That was kinda neat. It's much better than that short rope thing they tie me on! Then we played a lot.

.....and I topped it off by peeing on their carpet!

Yep, it was a good day!

My tail (oops) tale of whoa!

Gee, you people use so many words and this "spell checker" thingy is really frustrating! My doggie friends don't use so many words. We basically use one word, "bark!" Us doggies just know how to use that one word to our advantage! My Mom, "Haley" taught me all the words I need to know. Its so easy, it's all in the tone! Since I've been around people they say all kinds of things to me. Its fun teasing people with our facial expressions and head tilts! They really think they have it all over us doggies! You see, we can get our wishes by our bark tones and our eyes! Oh sure, we doggies know words like our name, come, sit, wanna go out, go for a ride and of course that dreaded word, NO!
If you really want to see people react to us just fake a squat on their new carpet! Or, just go to any door and look down at the corner of it! Man, they really dig that one!  But I digest, I mean digress!

It's been a tough week for me. First Pat and Dave took me to the doggie doctor. I think it was for a check up that has something to do with this spaying thing they talk about. Anyway, the doggie doctor, who's really nice, until she gave me a needle in my shoulder and squirted these yucky things down my throat. I don't know what that was all about but the needle got my attention! I was tough though, I didn't make a sound but I couldn't hold back my mean look at her. Everything was going along just fine until about late afternoon. I don't know what hit me but I got weak and didn't want to play at all. I didn't want to go out or anything. I managed to get some comfort when Pat held me in her lap until early the next morning.

Dave tried all kinds of things to get me to play but I just couldn't do anything. They took me back to the doggie doctor and I heard them talking about a reaction to one of those things they gave me. Boy, that was no fun at all. Now I'm having some trouble going potty but I feel much better. I didn't feel like eating so Pat tried putting this funny white stuff in my bowl. It looked like tiny chunks of some kind of meat with these little white things that looked like insects with no legs. I think they called it chicken and rice. I liked the chunky stuff but those other things just got stuck in my lips and gums.

This is how special I am.....

Funny though, later in the evening, Pat put some gooey stuff in my bowl with those things and it was pretty good. It was like some sort of watery flavored thing.

Pat took me back to the doggie doctor only to give me these other things to squirt down my throat. I think they said something about a de-wormer! At least these taste pretty good. I feel pretty good now and even went to doggie school yesterday!

I'm the hit of PetSmart! Man, I take over that place when I walk in! People turn and look at me. Kids are making all these cool sounds at me, but the other dogs really take notice! I fearlessly strut down the aisles and even the big dogs take notice. Although there was this one (smaller than me) dog in this guys arms  who was going to tear anyone apart who came near him. I think he was a Chihuahua!

It was time for my training class! I love Mary, my trainer! I make her laugh. I think she really likes me. I do what she tells me and she has these really neat treats that she gives me when I do something!
Unlike Coco, I sit pretty after Mary gives me a command, after all I am a Lady.

....and then there's Coco!

It's just me and Coco in our class. Coco and I get along pretty good but she's kinda goofy. When Mary gives her a command, instead of sitting she flops spread eagle on the floor. But, she still gets her treat!
I had to "get in her face" this training session. She's so goofy she bounces around and I finally had enough and "dressed" her down.

Take that you bundle of fluff!

I've had a tough week but I'm doing much better and making Pat and Dave laugh a lot... and I like that.

But best of all Pat knows how to make me feel really good.....

NEWS FLASH... I'll never understand people! Pat is all excited and happy and all I did was poop! It's only been two days since my last one. Honestly, I'll never understand people, you're so easy to please!

Till next time.....
